Prairie Pride Hockey League (PPHL / Prairie Pride) is an organization based in Winnipeg, Manitoba on Treaty 1 Territory. We’re dedicated to providing a positive space for 2SLGBTQIA+ and allied adults (18+) to enjoy and play ice hockey in an environment that fosters inclusion, respect, and community.
Inspired by the rise of the PWHL, local organizations like Keystone Curling, and queer hockey leagues across Canada, the idea for Prairie Pride Hockey League was born.
Winnipeg loves hockey, and with that comes all of the barriers found in traditional hockey spaces. Prairie Pride was founded out of a desire for a community where those who have been isolated / marginalized from, or intimidated by, the dominant spaces can play, learn, and connect.
